FIGURE SKATING

Beginners will get a taste of the fun and excitement of skating while seasoned players can challenge themselves to reach new heights.

You certainly admire skaters for their beautiful and graceful performances. So, why not put on a pair of skates yourself and experience the joy and freedom of gliding on ice. Professional coaches are here to teach everyone basic skating skills and how to maintain proper balance.

Moving up to the next level, you can learn how to improve and enhance your figure skating skills as well as take part in various competitions to bolster self-confidence. Go ahead…show them your stuff on the ice!

Based on a globally applied course of instruction from the Ice Skating Institute Asia (ISIAsia) and International Skating Union (ISU), LOHAS Rink offers a diverse range of skating training from FUNdamental courses for beginners to specific skills training for advanced skaters. Learners are also invited to participate in a host of competitions and performances to realise each person’s full potential.

A team of professional coaches is on hand as well offering group, semi-private and one-on-one training programmes for learners at all levels. The entire course comprises five, 30-minute classes.

Enrollment

  • An administrative fee of HK$50 is required for first-time enrollment and is non-refundable.
  • All enrollment (including student card registration) and course fees must be settled at least one day prior to the first lesson. Otherwise, no lesson will be arranged for students.
  • Once the schedules of the lesson/course are confirmed, the course fee is non-refundable and the type of lessons/courses is unchangeable. The paid course fees cannot be used for other courses or transferred to third parties.
  • Courses for which students have enrolled in and paid may be subject to postponement if the minimum required number of students is not met. The School reserves the right to delay the commencement of such courses. Courses with insufficient student enrollment can only commence upon agreement between the School and the coach. In the event that courses fail to meet the minimum enrollment requirement, the School will communicate with students in advance and may suggest paying additional course fees to enrol in other courses that have successfully opened.

STUDENT AND PARENT GUIDELINE

  • Students should arrive at the ice rink at least 15 minutes before the lesson starts. No makeup lesson will be provided for late arrivals.
  • Students must wear their own gloves, socks, long-sleeved sweatshirts and track pants.
  • Students must bring their registered student card for lesson check-in. An administrative fee of HK$20 will be charged to students who do not bring their student cards.
  • Students are allowed to enter the ice rink during the designated lesson time on the day of the lesson or continue practising in the ice rink after the lesson until the end of the designated timeslot. Admission fees will be charged during all non-lesson hours.
  • Students can enjoy an admission discount when purchasing public skating tickets during non-lesson hours by presenting a valid student card.
  • Each student with a valid student card can redeem a complimentary parent pass during lesson time, specially intended for parents/guardians responsible for the student‘s care. In the event that additional parents/guardians need to enter the ice rink, an additional fee of $20 will be charged to each individual.
  • Parent/Guardian must present the valid student card at the counter to obtain the parent pass. If the parent/guardian re-enters the ice rink without successfully presenting the parent pass, the School reserves the right to request payment for the parent pass.
  • Students must follow the leave procedures and terms stated on the registration form. Failure to do so will result in the School not making any arrangements for makeup lessons. Leave applications are not accepted for all Group/Holiday/Trial lessons.
  • Any lesson schedules or makeup lessons with approved changes must be completed within six weeks from the originally scheduled lesson date. Any unused lessons will be forfeited and are non-refundable.
  • Once all courses are confirmed and payment procedures are completed, students are required to attend lessons as scheduled. Failure to comply with the terms and notify the School will be considered as an absence, and no makeup lessons or rescheduling arrangements will be provided.
  • In the event that Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above, or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is hoisted, ongoing lessons shall be continued until the end of the scheduled lesson. Lessons that have not yet started or are scheduled after the warning signal will be postponed to the following week or notified separately.
  • All lessons will be cancelled if Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above, or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted before 9:00 AM on the day of the lesson. Lessons will resume two hours after the warning signal is lowered or cancelled.
  • Since accidents may occur during all recreational activities, both beginners and experienced skaters are susceptible to the risk of injury due to their own or other skaters’ negligence. Therefore, prospective students or their parents/guardians should assess the risks prior to enrollment.
  • Students must read carefully and comply with the ice rink’s disclaimer and the safety rules and regulations before lessons start.
  • Parents/Guardians are recommended to accompany their children during the lessons and at all times in the rink. Parents/Guardians may pick up their children at the entrance/exit of the ice rink when lessons end.

  • Please read carefully the Enrolment Information and Course REGULATIONS before your enrolment.
  • Since accidents may occur during all recreational activities, interested parties should therefore take the above into full consideration before enrolment.
